My name is Marianna Founti-Vassi. I was born in Athens and I'm living since 1989 on Crete. I have a big affection for children and plants. After my studies in Paris and 10 years working with children I wanted to dedicate more time for my affinity to plants. I was looking for alternative cures, back to natural medicine. So I found people who still have knowledge about traditional medicine. This search brought me to many countries and finally moved my husband and I to Crete 19 years ago. We made the choice for this island, because here since ancient times known cure and methods still were applied. So I'm preserver and collector of almost forgotten knowledge of herbal medicine. Here in Maroulas the environment is still largely free from chemical residues and harmful environmental influences. I can consider this as a good decision, the beginning of a beautiful time. Here I can study the plants and experiment with their application. I turned my hobby into a profession and with the sale of teas and oils, I contribute to my family's income. I'm working with doctors, we exchange experiences and they send me their patients.
